Whistler's Whistle

Living the childhood dreams is not always an easy thing for all, we have so many dreams, wishes during childhood days and as we grow we either tend to forget it or forget it or just ignore it, just because we have just “grown ups”. Does growing old really stop from realising childhood wishes and dreams? Well it should not.

I remember, when I was a young around eight or nine, my friend had a new whistle with him. At that age, I was only able to connect the whistle to a bus conductor who had a brass metalled whistle and was signalling to the driver. I could still remember his face. After which I wanted to get a whistle, but I never asked my parents or anyone for it, but in my sub conscious always wanted to have it blow it.

A s the years passes, I came across the whistle in day to day life every day at school my Physical Education Teachers used it very often, Some railway guards use it, bus conductors in Chennai used it extensively. People can recall the whistle blown by the Kate in the climax of Titanic – when I was watching the movie, I realised that it’s a life saying tool.

Being grown up and had the opportunity to travel, I was able to realise some of my intimate wishes. But regarding the whistle, I had something in my subconscious, but never realised what it is. But now being alone, in a calm pleasant ambience and really close to a railway track has again brought back my “love“ to whistle.

And coincidentally, in the streets of Hilversum town, there was some super market people giving out free whistles to people on the street, which I got it and now since last two days, I am with the whistle plugged all the time, my fellow colleagues here are might think “what is he doing?” is he a child?” ”when will he stop this?” But they don’t know that I am reliving my childhood wish!

Again coincidentally, I wanted to restart my blog with a fresh name and look, as I was thinking for a name, I just thought why not name it Whistle – which also symbolises communication, alert, signal, blast, tune etc., So from now on listen to the stories of whistler’s whistle!
